I love our prophet!

"many more people could ride out the storm-tossed waves in their economic lives if they had a year's supply of food... and were debt-free. today we find that many have followed this counsel in reverse: they have at least a year's supply of debt and are food-free."

I love being mommy!

I really love being a mom! Most days my daughters make me a little crazy but I get a lot of laughs! Since I have been sewing so much, I have just been leaving my sewing stuff out. I always pick it up off the floor and put it on the table to keep my darling Holly from being tempted. It turns out that she's grown though and can now reach the things on the table if I don't place them far from the edges! She has also, to my horror, grown tall enough and talented enough to climb up in the chairs and onto the table! I know this because I saw her do it today. I believe mom is correct I need to secure the cough syrup or she my turn out to be more like her mom! She has also become quite fascinated with my pin cushion, which is a little basket. I catch her regularly trying to carry it off. Well, today while I was cooking dinner Holly managed to get my little basket pin cushion, which was on the table, and take it over to the couch. When her daddy went to retrieve her for dinner she had pulled out about half of the pins and stuck them in the couch cushion. I'm just grateful she didn't just pull them out and set them down, at least this way they weren't gonna stick her! When he called me over at first I couldn't figure out what it was, it was just tons of little colored balls sitting on my couch, it took me a while to figure out it was the top of tons of little pins.
here is a picture of Holly running
from us, that is the typical view around our house

After dinner I asked Lindsey if she would like to go get in the shower, which of course she did. She's gotten really good a taking care of herself, so I helped her walk into the bathroom and turned on her shower and told her to get undressed. When I went back in, she had completely undressed herself and was about to get in the shower when I noticed she had forgotten her socks! I'm so proud of her she's making such great progress. She is now standing up BY HER SELF! From sitting to standing! And she is walking all over the place! I no longer go and get her when she wants mommy, I just tell her where I am and she comes! It's soo great!
As for my sweet Charlotte, she is already growing and breaking my heart! They don't stay little long enough. She's starting to become more alert to. She still sleeps an awful lot, but now she wakes up more to look around. It just amazes me how much they change.
Like I said, I'm really loving being a mommy right now, my girls fill my heart.
My sweet Charlotte, she keeps changing!

Oh and Leanne if you like that one, you'll love the one I did today.

reading

I'm reading the Chronicles of Narnia and have just finished the Voyage of the Dawn Treader. The ending was my favorite part because C.S. Lewis really amazes me, so I thought I'd share!
"Oh Aslan" said Lucy, "Will you tell us how to get into your country from our world?"
"I shall be telling you all the time," said Aslan, "But I will not tell you how long or short the way will be; only that it lies across a river. But do not fear that, for I am a great Bridge Builder."

Sew crazy!

This is my purse (I'll be using it as my diaper bag)

I didn't work all that much but appearently having a routine every week keeps you from being stir crazy. I told Kyle I would stop working in March and so I have and now I'm going a little nuts! It's not a bad nuts I suppose, I've just been sewing like a mad woman! I've now finished the girls Easter dresses, Kyle's apron, another apron, a shopping cart cover for Maebeth, and a purse I'm going to use for a diaper bag! My next project I will start today is one of Maebeth's aprons. Then I'll go to the store to start the blanket for mom, I think I can probably get Maebeth's apron done today, they don't take me that long! Any who, check out my creations!

Single minded

Lindsey's dress
I get a little bit of a one track mind when I start a project because I always know that if I could just work on it a little bit more I could finish it. Plus I love finishing a project I love the feeling of completing something! So I went to Hobby Lobby yesterday (I love Hobby Lobby) and got the material for the girls Easter dresses. I knew I couldn't work on them until I finished Kyle's apron, which I promised him a long time ago, so I got busy. I finished his apron and Lindsey's dress yesterday and started Holly's and have been sewing all morning! Well, I did it, I finished their dresses. Charlotte's is the tiniest dress I've ever made, it's actually a baby dolls dress because they just don't make patterns that small! I'm just hoping it will fit her!

Charlotte's dress
(to give you an idea of how small it is that's my ironing board that it's laying on and it doesn't even make it across)
Charlotte's bloomers! They're ruffle bums!~
Holly's dress
I've got to find a onsie to go under it. She's such a tiny little thing (this is the pattern for 18-20 lbs).

Giving us a heart attack!

Holly has a new trick! She can now climb on the white couch via Lindsey's chair and if dad leaves his video game chair close enough she can climb on it and sit. She's very proud of her trick and she climbs up over and on to the chair just to slide down and do it again. Tonight daddy had to beat the chair up because it threw our poor angel off and hurt her...and then she did it again. She's so funny!

My accomplishment!!

When I was a laurel some 10 years ago, I started my laurel project which was to make a quilt that I could save for my first baby. I started it, got all the hours I needed and then didn't touch it! I would work on it every once in a while when I remembered it and managed to get mostly completed before Holly got here but never did finish the edges. I decided as this might be our last baby I better finish the stinking thing and I am proud to say, I have done it!!! Just in time for my THIRD baby. YEAH ME!

Reflections

If you ever want to see a true reflection of yourself,
Look at your children,
For they see you when a mirror can not.

What a nice day!

It has been such nice weather lately that I have taken to waiting outside and pulling weeds with Holly while we wait for Lindsey to get home from school. It's been such nice weather lately that the front of my house is actually starting to look nice again! Holly also loves it because I actually allow her to play in the dirt! LOL Today was such a nice day that the whole family got to be outside! Lindsey came home and sat and talked with Holly and me while I kept pulling weeds, and then daddy got home from school and helped out! We did have a little scare though, while Holly was helping me pull weeds, we found a fire ant mound and I didn't realize it until they were all over her shoes. I grabbed her up pulled her socks, shoes, and pants off and inspected for ants. Luckily I caught it fast! That was the end of pulling weeds and playing outside, I put the girls in the house and Kyle and I gathered up all the weeds and leaves that we had piled up. We got inside and once again I was a little worried because Holly wasn't in the front room where I'd left her. I walked back in the front living room to find her in the window talking to the dogs. She was so cute, and then Kyle started getting on to her! I couldn't figure out what she had done she looked so Innocent talking to the puppies! Turns out she had come in and started playing his football game (PlayStation) that he had started. She's a booger!

Stinkin' Mormons trying to convert us again!

So I'm sitting here reading Maebeth's blog when the door bell rings. I run and answer it to find to missionaries in ties and name tags. I smile and say hello and they begin "Hello we are Christian missionaries out to spread the word about Jesus Christ, tell me ma'am do you believe in Christ?" and I smile back and say "why yes I do and as a matter of fact I'm actually Mormon". At this point they look kind of ashamed, and proceed to apologize for not looking up the members in the ward in the area. One is our new missionary and the other was an exchange because the senior missionary was sick. I laughed told him it was probably our fault for not feeding the missionaries enough. When I told Kyle who it was he said I should have invited them in and wait to see how long it was before they figured out we were members! With Christ picture, our sealing certificate, and the proclamation to the family all on our wall, I think it would have been funny to see, too bad we'll never know!

My ten things

It's taken me a while to decide to actually do the ten things about myself because honestly I can't think of then things about me. So here goes
1. I am the defender of all unseen. If you want to talk about someone in my presence please be aware that I will defend that person, whether I agree with them or not, just simply because they are not there to defend themselves. Most people hate this about me, but I just can't help it. I even do it when I talk bad about someone I eventually take there side in my conversation so they are equally represented too, so it's not just you.
2. I am a Pride and Prejudice/Twilight/Harry Potter addict. I've read all the books not once but several times and I can't read to many books in between with out going back to my Mr Darcy/Harry Potter/Twilight characters. I will continue to read them over and over and be completely in love with the stories every time. They never get old to me, and I love the world they allow me to escape into. This by the way drives my husband nuts!
3. Shoes and socks are my enemy! I will do absolutely everything I can to avoid wearing shoes and socks. As soon as I come in the door they are off and do not go back on until I'm actually going somewhere. Sometimes I will actually put my slip on shoes on with out socks simply because I don't want to.
4. I think I love things to much. When I find a movie I like I watch it over and over until I'm sick of it. Same with the books mentioned above, food, and anything really. If I love something I think I cling to it until I find my next thing to love!
5. I watch King of the Hill. I used to criticize adults who watched cartoons but I have become one of them. I don't do the Simpsons of Family Guy because those are tacky, but King of the Hill has actually become one of my favorite shows. Just because they really do have Texans in the right light. Plus Hank Hill just is one of those guys you know, good ol' boy that wants the world to be a good place and is loyal to his idiot friends.
6. I prefer to wear pj's all day if I'm not going anywhere. I just feel like I'm making more laundry by getting dressed when I have no where to go. I feel like I'm saving water and energy by taking a shower and putting on different pj's for the day that way I have one less pair of clothes to wash. Maybe this is just my being lazy but I justify it as saving! LOL
7. I have a horrible temper. When I get mad I just loose control and I can feel it happening I know I'm being irrational but I can't stop it. I just literally loose it, and all doors, and walls are in serious trouble. It's something I'm working on.
8. This is my darkest confession, but I think I have a favorite child right now. I don't think I love one more then the other, because I love them both so much it makes my heart ache, but I've had Lindsey for so long and Holly is so new that right now she is my favorite. Plus she just has so much personality I don't know how to handle it. I also attribute it to the fact that with Holly I'm having to be a completely different mom and so she is my first child all over again and how do you not just absolutely love your first child? Not that I don't love Lindsey because she is my absolute angel, but there it is. Does this make me a bad mom??? IDK
9. I hate confrontation! You really have to do something to make me super mad to get me to come out and say it, otherwise I just push it aside because I always feel like me telling you could be so much worse than you not knowing. But if you ever push me far enough, refer back to 7 and I apologize.
10. I have a hard time feeling wanted. I know that a lot of people love me but in my head it really doesn't stick. I don't know when this started but I've been like this a while.
So there it is, me in a nut shell!
